About the Author
Kresley Cole (born March 7, 1973, in Northern Florida) is an American romance novelist best known for the Immortals After Dark paranormal romance series, a sprawling interconnected fantasy world spanning more than twenty novels and novellas that has produced multiple #1 New York Times bestsellers. A graduate of Western Kentucky University and a former competitive collegiate athlete, Cole began publishing historical romance with Pocket Books in 2003 before moving to paranormal romance in 2006 with "A Hunger Like No Other", the first full-length Immortals After Dark novel.
The Immortals After Dark series — set in the Lore, a hidden society of vampires, Lykae werewolves, Valkyrie, witches, demons, fey, and other supernatural factions navigating an ongoing apocalyptic war — has continued through entries including "No Rest for the Wicked", "Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night", "Dark Needs at Night's Edge", "Dark Desires After Dusk", "Kiss of a Demon King", "Pleasure of a Dark Prince", "Demon from the Dark", "Lothaire", "Shadow's Claim", "MacRieve", "Dark Skye", "Sweet Ruin", "Wicked Abyss", "Shadow's Seduction", and "Munro". The series uses a recurring cast across overlapping timelines, with each novel pairing a previously introduced supernatural character with a new mate.
Cole's earlier MacCarrick Brothers historical-romance trilogy ("If You Dare", "If You Desire", "If You Deceive") and the Sutherland Brothers historical series preceded her paranormal-romance turn. In 2014 she launched the Arcana Chronicles, a post-apocalyptic young-adult series beginning with "Poison Princess", in which surviving teenagers manifest powers tied to the major arcana of the tarot. The Game Maker trilogy ("The Professional", "The Master", "The Player") is her contemporary erotic-romance entry.
A multiple recipient of the RITA Award from the Romance Writers of America, Cole is among a small group of authors with #1 New York Times bestsellers across three subgenres — historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance. Her books have sold across more than two dozen languages, and her "Ravenous" backlist remains in print. She lives in Florida with her family.
