Darkening Skies

"Darkening Skies" is volume thirty-three in the "Left Behind: The Kids" series by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye. The Tribulation Force struggles to stay clear of the Global Community as another of the seven bowl judgments rocks the world. The Young Trib Force's network is straining under the weight of refugee believers, lost couriers, and an enemy state apparatus that now treats them as the highest-priority insurgents on the planet.

This is one of the late-series volumes where the apocalyptic timeline accelerates noticeably — the bowl judgments described in Revelation chapter sixteen are unfolding in close succession, and Jenkins gives substantial page time to characters trying to maintain their faith and their tactical edge while the physical world disintegrates around them. The series' core ensemble — Judd, Vicki, Lionel, Ryne, and the expanding network of teen believers — carries the action.

Written for ages ten through fourteen but widely read by adult Left Behind fans, the Kids volumes give Jenkins and LaHaye room to develop subplots the adult novels skipped. Best read in series order. Pairs with the parent Left Behind series and other Tyndale evangelical fiction lines.
