Children's Privacy: TaskTroll is designed for families with children. We take special care to protect children's data and comply with applicable children's privacy laws including COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).

Parent/Guardian Information
- Account data: Name, email address, password (via WordPress/MemberPress)
- Billing data: Payment information is processed by Stripe and MemberPress; we do not store credit card numbers
- Family data: Family name, timezone, currency preference
- Health data (optional): Parent medication names, dosages, schedules, diagnoses (if you use the Parent Hub medication feature)
Child Information (Provided by Parents)
- Profile data: Child's first name, date of birth, avatar/photo
- Activity data: Chore completions, points earned, badges, XP levels
- Financial data: Allowance amounts, wallet balance, transaction history
- Health data (optional): Medication names, dosages, schedules, illness records, temperature readings
- Photo submissions: Chore proof photos uploaded by children
- Card data (optional): Debit card transaction history, spending patterns (processed by Stripe)
Automatically Collected Data
- Device type and browser information
- IP address and approximate location (for timezone detection)
- Session data and login timestamps
- App usage patterns (pages visited, features used)
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the service: Manage chores, track allowances, issue debit cards, display dashboards
- Authentication: Verify parent identity and manage child PIN-based access
- Notifications: Send chore reminders, approval alerts, and medication reminders
- Financial processing: Process card funding, track transactions, calculate allowances
- Improve the service: Understand usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features

3. How We Protect Children's Data
- Child accounts are created and controlled exclusively by parents/guardians
- Children log in with a family code and PIN; they do not provide personal information directly
- We do not collect children's email addresses or contact information
- We do not display advertising to children
- We do not sell or share children's data with third parties for marketing
- Children's data is isolated to their family and not visible to other families
- Parents can view, modify, or delete their children's data at any time
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Stripe: For payment processing and debit card issuance (subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy)
- Hosting providers: Our servers store your data securely
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government request
We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or social media platforms.
5. Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on secure servers in the United States
- All connections use HTTPS/SSL encryption
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
- Database access is restricted and credentials are protected
- Multi-tenant isolation ensures families cannot access each other's data
- Debit card numbers and sensitive financial data are stored by Stripe, not on our servers
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data is retained as long as your account is active
- Cancelled accounts: Data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion
- Financial records: Transaction history may be retained for up to 7 years as required by financial regulations
- Backups: May contain data for up to 90 days after deletion

You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your family's data
- Correct: Update inaccurate information at any time through the app
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export: Download your family's data in a portable format
- Restrict: Limit how we process your data
