"Just for Now" is the fourth book in Abbi Glines's Sea Breeze new-adult romance series, focused on Preston Drake — the bad-boy fixture of the earlier books — and Amanda Hardy, who has loved him for years and finally gets her chance. Preston has reasons for the lifestyle that everyone in town judges him for, and as Amanda gets close enough to learn them, the romance turns into something the series had only hinted at before.

Glines writes the Sea Breeze books with a particular emotional register — small-town Alabama setting, working-class hero, first-person interior intensity, secrets that turn out to matter. "Just for Now" works best read after "Because of Low," "While It Lasts," and "Sometimes It Lasts," since several characters carry forward and Preston's reputation is built in those earlier books. Readers who came in for the Rosemary Beach series will find a more grounded, less glittering setting here but the same emotional voice.
